9 Hole Ladies Golf -- August 2008
The GM 9-Hole Women’s Golf group finished June with a Guys & Dolls event on June 19^th. Peggy and Floyd Stone won the event. Betty and Harry Rakeshaw came in 2^nd. Ten couples participated in the event which ended with a luncheon. As always the 9-Hole Group had a great time!!

9 Hole Ladies Golf -- July 2008
The 9-Hole women’s golf group hosted Oak Ridge, Fox Den and Beaver Ridge Country Clubs on May 22nd. The visiting golfers commented on the beauty of our course, and what fun they all had playing at Green Meadow. The hostesses provided a ‘continental’ breakfast for the early morning “Meet and Greet” followed by a round of golf and then the awards luncheon.

Kudos to Bobbie Denton and Barbara Clark who provided prizes, etc. Thanks to all who helped make it a fun day. Special congratulations to Betty Rakeshaw who shot a hole in one on #9 on May 23^rd. On June 3rd the 9-hole group was off to Beaver Creek where JoAnn Russell won closest to the line, Barbara Clark won longest drive, and Betty Rakestraw was the medalist with Low Gross. On June 12th the 9-Hole group held their Flag Day Tournament.

9 Hole Ladies Golf -- May 2008

The 9-Hole Lady Golfers held their HCP Tournament on the 17th, using a Flag Tournament format for the event. The winners were: Barbara Clark 3rd place, Catsue Pipkin 2nd place, Mary Gene Roberts, 1st place.
On Tuesday the 22nd, 8 ladies played in a Guest Day at Oak Ridge Country Club. The winners were: Carol Tuttle 1st low net, Betty Rakestraw 2nd low net.

GMCC 9-H Ladies hosted our Guest Day on Thursday, May 22^nd. We had 40 golfers (10 from GM) for a great day of golf and friendly competition for all the local 9-Hole Women’s Golf member country clubs.

9 Hole Ladies Golf -- May 2008

March 25, 2008, was the opening day for the Women’s 9-Hole Golf Association season here at Green Meadow. We began the morning with fellowship and a combined brunch with the 18-Hole Women’s group, then moved the festivities to the golf course. Despite the chilly weather, many in the group played a round of golf and had a great time. For some of us, it was good to be back out on the links. Those that participated were:
Betty Rakestraw, Chairman; Peggy Stone, Vice Chairman & Secretary/Treasurer; Barbara Clark, Guest Day Committee; Mary Gene Roberts, and Jo Ann Russell, Guys & Dolls and HCP tournament Committees; Donna Tapp and Kathi McCammon, Scrapbook/Communications/GM Bulletin Reporters; and Catsue Pipkin, Jo Schaller and Mickie Raby, Awards Luncheon Committee. Also participating was Sue Yeago.

The 9-Hole group will play each Thursday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Practice, for those who want to, will be on Tuesdays when the course is available. Check with the Pro Shop for times. Come join us for a good time and friendly competition!

Nine-Hole Lady Golfers attended the Guest Day, a Western Themed Golf & Luncheon at Beaver Brook on July 24, 2007. Some Participants (shown below) September 25, the 9-H Golfers attended the Guest Day at Fox Den where Donna Tap won Low Gross, Betty Rackstraw won Low Net, and Ann Russell won straightest drive. 9 Hole Ladies Golf, July 2007

The 9-hole lady golfers had a fun day Thursday 28th as we enjoyed Guest Day with other area clubs. Our guests were from Beaver Brook, Fox Den and Oak Ridge.

     We had 42 ladies participating and received many compliments about our club. They commented on the excellent condition of the course, their enjoyment of play, the good organization of the Pro Shop for our play, and their enjoyment of the delicious buffet.
In addition, they commented on the clever table favors selected by Bobbie Denton.

     Each club had winners for low gross, low net, low putts, and chip-ins. All clubs competed for longest drive and closest to the pin.
