18-Hole Lady Golfers July 2008

The 18-H Women’s Golf Member/Guest Day was played on Tuesday, June 10 with 12 teams participating.  Awarding 1st & 2nd place, a two team tie was settled by a scorecard playoff.  Results as follows:  First Place:  Judy Goddard - Green Meadow,  Hilde Stein -  Tellico,  Judy Henry -  Fox Den,  Cricket McKamey -  Oak Ridge; Second Place:  Betty Sosna - Green Meadow, Ruth Robinson - Holston Hills, Barbara Slagle - Green Meadow, Janie Gouffon, Fox Den.

The Green Meadow WGA 18-Hole League Championship is scheduled for Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, July 21, 22 and 24.  Format is match play.  Dolly Boswell and Yvonne King are co-chairing tournament.  A sign up sheet will be posted outside the Women's Locker Room.

We encourage and appreciate all participation in the GMWGA 2008 events.

18-Hole Lady Golfers June 2008
    
The GMWGA 18-Hole Lady Golfers have enjoyed a good start to the season with good weather and warming temperatures on Tuesdays.  We are looking forward to the upcoming Member/Guest Day scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th.  New member Barbara Slagle has joined our 18 hole group.

     The GMWGA 18 Hole Group began their season March 25 sharing a kick-off brunch with the 9 hole group and then golfing afterwards.

Our first tournament, GMWGA Handicap Tournament is scheduled for May 27, 29 and 30. A minimum of 5 current (2008) Green Meadow scorecards must be entered for the Championship or the various flights. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside the women's locker room.

9 & 18-Hole Lady Golfers Kick-Off Brunch

At the Green Meadow 18-Hole Women's Golf Association organization meeting dates were set for the upcoming season.  
Our Spring Kick-Off brunch will be Tuesday, March 25, at 9:00 a.m. A special invitation is extended for all new and 
current 18-and 9-Holers to be there for brunch, business meeting, season schedule and a golf event.  Information and 
registration for KAWGA will be included. Sign-up sheets are forthcoming and more details will follow in the 
March Newsletter.

Additions or changes in the 9-H plus 18-H WGA Handbook and in the member addresses should be sent 
to Pat Shivers, cshivers@utk.edu. in time for printing before the Kick-Off brunch and business meeting.

and she currently teaches Golf at Kingwood CC

KAWGA  Hosted by GMCC -- Oct 16, 2007

The Knox Area Women's Golf Association met at GMCC this month with about 76+ ladies 
representing 8 different area Golf Clubs.  The new president for the coming year is our own Tammy Cheek.

Ladies Golf at GMCC - Oct  2007

     The 18-Hole Ladies will be hosting the Knox Area Women’s Golf Association group on Tuesday, October 16, 2007. A rain date is scheduled for Oct 23, 2007, if needed.  

     The 18H Lady Golfers will have their Match Play Championship held on Tuesdays during the month of October.
