Alcoa & Maryville HS Football = TN State Champs!

A Breakfast celebration was held at GMCC to recognize the Football programs at Alcoa HS and Maryville HS which have both won 1st Place in their Tennessee State Division Championships.

WBCR - AM 1470

     "The Original Sports Page," is a 2 hour radio sports show now in its 28th season, originates live on Saturday mornings, 10:00 to noon, from the Green Meadow Country Club lounge on 1470 am.

     The show is produced and co-hosted by long-time GMCC member Bob Gilbert, a former Associated Press sports writer and current syndicated columnist. Bob is also the author of a biography on General Robert R. Neyland, “Neyland: The Gridiron General.” Co-hosts are Jim Campbell, retired Athletics director at Maryville High; and special contributor, Hall Bock, Associated Press writer in New York.

     The program focuses heavily on sports events such as: Area high schools, the Tennessee Vols, Maryville College, the Southeastern Conferences and major events such as the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, the Masters and the Kentucky Derby.

     GMCC members are invited to sit in on the show and  participate.
