BRIDGE AT THE CLUB - August 2006

Green Meadow Duplicate Bridge is looking for people who would like to join us. We meet at 10 a.m. every Wednesday and would welcome anyone with open arms. If you are new to duplicate, we will help you learn thedifference between our game and regular party bridge. If you want to learn to play bridge, please contact Lana Ernsberge (984-3788) or Janet Sten (681-1354), and we will arrange to teach you.

The following players were the top master point winners in June: Clarke and Joe Harrison, Betty Johnston, Maryann Brown, and Janet Gallagher.

Congratulations to Laila Werner who was awarded the Golden Age Masters Award from ACBL for her achievements at the bridge table. We are very proud of her.

I want to give a very special thank you to Robert Block and Ed Peck. They came to our rescue on June 28, when one of our players became ill and wanted to go home. One of them drove her home in her car while the other followed and brought him back.     Don’t ever forget we are a family of very caring members.

GMCC Duplicate Bridge Group
December 2004

Every Wednesday morning a group of Green Meadow members meet in the ballroom to chat, socialize, have coffee, and play duplicate bridge. Sometimes it is more social than anything else.

But, this is a dedicated group and between 10 am and 2 pm they play 27 hands of bridge. Oh I forgot! They take time out to eat one of Chef Rick’s tasty lunches.

Congratulations to the big winners for the month of October:
Lilia Werner, Mary Wallace, and Betty Pate. Good job!!!

We know there are more bridge players out there, and we would like to invite you to join us any Wednesday you find you have time. If you have never played duplicate bridge, we will be happy to help you get started.

For information call Lana Ernsberger, Betty Johnston, or Janet Sten. Hope to hear from you soon (Call the office for phone numbers).

Of course, no golf club can subsist on the fairways alone. "The proof," as people tend to say, "is in the pudding." And while you may not be able to find any pudding on the grounds, Green Meadow has a variety of other activities for Members.

The lounge, off limits to children, is for those times when a little peace and quiet will do quite nicely.

Even inside the clubhouse or the main building, there's plenty to see and do. Members will find a number of other rooms and activities to enjoy, so even the most miserable rainsoaked days can be tolerated. How about a few hands in the lounge? Or you could even just sit back and watch some television. Whatever your pleasure, it's probably covered somewhere on Green Meadow's grounds.
